CHEMISTRY OPENS DOORS AND GATES

CHEMISTRY OPENS DOORS AND GATES

The open day at the Metadynea industrial park in Krems was a complete success. Around 1,300 visitors, including many families and schoolchildren, came on Thursday September 22nd, 2022 to find out about the diverse activities in one of the largest industrial locations in Lower Austria.

Collaborative Event

The open day was organized under the leadership of Metadynea Austria GmbH together with the companies Kemira Chemie GmbH, Prefere Resins Austria GmbH, Bilfinger Industrial Services GmbH, Rail Cargo Logistics GmbH and Imperial Chemical Transport GmbH.

The event was opened by Dr. Michael Kunz, Managing Director of Metadynea Austria: "We would like to offer the population the opportunity to get to know the innovative companies in the industrial park in a pleasant atmosphere."

Federal Councilor Dr. Doris Berger-Grabner, like many other prominent guests from politics and business, accepted the invitation and did not miss the open day.

Despite the changeable autumn weather, more than 1,000 visitors flocked to the site for an interesting look behind the scenes. A diverse and varied program was offered, from company presentations, extensive information on safety management, demonstrations by the company fire brigade and a trip on a pick-up train across the factory.

The opportunity to view the industrial park from a bird's eye view turned out to be a big hit. Another highlight were the demonstrations by the "Magicians' Apprentices". The Lower Austrian civil protection association was also on site to present itself and gave important information in cases of a blackout scenario. Special tours of selected plants from the companies Kemira and Metadynea offered interested visitors a closer look at the production processes.

On the occasion of the information event, which took place for the first time in 3 years, the stamp collecting association Krems designed a special stamp for the open day and presented it to the visitors.

Seven career opportunities in one swoop!

Under this slogan, a separate job initiative for the industrial park was launched in a group of experts. The personnel market has also suffered greatly from the Covid19 pandemic, resulting in a lack of applications and skilled workers in all sectors. In order to not only be dependent on external platforms and advertising opportunities, a separate job platform was designed for the companies in the industrial park and presented to the public for the first time on the open day.

Location with tradition and long history

The industrial site in Krems has a history of almost 75 years, of which it was internationally known as Krems Chemie for more than 50 years. In the last 25 years, the Metadynea industrial park has developed from this with 9 partly globally active companies, which are very attractive employers for around 600 employees.
