75 years industrial park – special stamp

This year the industrial park is celebrating its 75th anniversary and at the same time we are celebrating our 10th anniversary as Metadynea Austria GmbH. Due to these two very pleasant occasions, a competition for the design of a special stamp for the lower school students of the Bundesrealgymnasium (BRG) Kremszeile was launched in cooperation with the Krems Stamp Collecting Association. The winner of the drawing competition is Mr. Philipp Steininger.

On Tuesday, March 28, 2023, the 3rd grade of the Bundesrealgymnasium was invited to the award ceremony at Metadynea industrial park. The students were warmly welcomed by the Managing Director of Metadynea Austria, Dr. Michael Kunz, Managing Director of Metadynea Holding and President of the Krems Stamp Collecting Association, Dr. Ralph Theuer, and the chairman of the Association of the Austrian Chemical Industry, KR Prof. Ing. Hubert Culik. We were also pleased about the personal visit from the director of the BRG Kremszeile, Dr. Elisabeth Weigel, and Alfred Grünstäudl from the Directorate of Education of Lower Austria.

On March 11, 1948, ten private persons founded the company Sartorius & Co. Fabrikation Chemischer Produkte Ges.m.b.H. in an abandoned mill in Krems-Rehberg for the production of raw materials for the leather industry.

A year later the company was renamed Krems-Chemie Fabrikation Chemischer Produkte Ges.m.b.H., moved to the current location in Hafenstraße and started the production of resins.

The company was well known nationally and internationally under the name Krems-Chemie for more than 50 years.

In 2001, the company was renamed Dynea Austria GmbH, and in 2013, it was sold to the Russian Metafrax Group and renamed Metadynea Austria GmbH.

Over the decades, the product range has been steadily expanded. Today, the core business of Metadynea Austria focuses on the production of resins for the composite board industry, as well as the production of fine chemicals, surfacing materials and flame retardants for the textile, pharmaceutical and food industries.

Around 400,000 tons of these quality products are manufactured every year in state-of-the-art production facilities.

The Austrian site in Krems also acts as an important competence center for product development and application technology with qualified and experienced specialists.
